Generally, the Michigan basketball program displays its dominance by winning on the court.
But today, it found another way.
The University of Michigan Athletic Department’s Crisler Arena, which recently underwent a huge renovation and expansion, was granted LEED™ (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Certification from the United States Green Building Council -- the highest honor.
In order to achieve LEED™ status, a building must have a high-performance building envelope, water-efficient measures, efficient lighting, and strong air quality.
The new Crisler boasts a new HD video scoreboard, a whole new lighting system, new seating, heating, ventilation and cooling.
With the certification, Michigan found another way to exude it’s difference than other colleges— The Michigan Difference.
