Expectations aren't too high for the Michigan football team this season. The Wolverines are a fringe top 25 team in most preseason polls and nobody is picking them to win the Big Ten.
A good season is likely needed to keep the Ann Arbor faithful happy, though. It's Brady Hoke's fourth year leading the program and the coach is coming off back-to-back five-plus loss campaigns. Another seven or eight win season could put Hoke's job security in danger.
The Wolverines appear to understand this. Senior quarterback Devin Gardner instagrammed a photo this morning of himself and his teammates working out in Michigan Stadium before the sun came up.
Michigan opens the 2014 season Aug. 30 against Appalachian State before traveling to Notre Dame in Week 2. The Wolverines two biggest games will come outside the confines of Michigan Stadium, as they face Michigan State and Ohio State on the road.
