In the days after the regular season finale against Ohio State, Michigan star defensive lineman Rashan Gary announced that he would enter the NFL Draft.
That the star junior would give up his final year of eligibility is not a huge surprise. Gary had a big 2016 season, going for 58 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks. This year, he had 6.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks, but missed time during the year due to injury.
Even so, he should be an easy first round pick, and has potential to go pretty high depending on how the run on defensive linemen goes.
When he enters the NFL, Rashan Gary is going to be represented by his own agency.
According to attorney Darren Heitner, Gary is launching Rashan Gary Sports, and bringing aboard agent Ian Clarke, who will represent him.
Gary has also filed for a trademark for his name as well as a new "RG," which it appears he will sell apparel with. The logo is also now his Twitter avatar.
We've seen some recent players represent themselves, or have parents handle things. This is a new one, and pretty forward thinking of Gary.
We'll see if he looks to court some of his current and former teammates to join up with him.
