Report: Jim Harbaugh Visited 4-Star LB Roquan Smith's Mom At Her Workplace On Thursday

It's probably fair to say that Jim Harbaugh really, really wants four-star linebacker Roquan Smith to play for him at Michigan.

The Wolverines' coach showed how much he desires the top recruit on Thursday.

Harbaugh spent the day in the Macon County (Ga.) area, where the 6-foot-2, 205-pound prospect lives. The 51-year-old coach didn't just meet with the recruit, though. He also took a trip to meet with Smith's mother at her workplace, according to Michael Carvell of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution

From the report:

Harbaugh wants Smith so badly that he went to see Roquan’s mother at her job at Fort Valley State.

“(Harbaugh) visited her at work, and he also visited with Roquan’s aunt and uncle,” Harold said. “He did the same things as Coach Richt. He visited some people for us, and shook some hands. All three of those men coming here was a big deal to our community. It gave people something to get excited about. It gives our younger players motivation to work hard.”

Harbaugh had been out of the recruiting game for roughly four years while coaching in the NFL, but it's clear the Michigan coach hasn't lost a step. He'll be one of the top recruiters in the country during his time in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Smith is set to announce his decision on National Signing Day next Wednesday, Feb. 4. He is reportedly choosing between Georgia, Texas A&M, UCLA and Michigan.
