Ohio State has once again beaten the Michigan Wolverines – this year’s edition resulting in another blowout win for the Buckeyes. Ryan Day moves to 1-0 over Jim Harbaugh’s squad. It’s yet another loss for the Michigan head coach, who has yet to beat Ohio State during his time with the school.
The Buckeyes flat out dominated the Wolverines on Saturday. But Ohio State star DE Chase Young didn’t show up too much in the stat sheet, recording just two QB hurries. The DE’s impact was still seen and felt though.
Michigan often had to double-team Young as the Wolverines did all they could to protect QB Shea Patterson. But even that couldn’t stop Young from breaking the pass protection at times, so Michigan had to find a solution. For the Wolverines, that solution was literally bear-hugging Young – a clear penalty the refs inexcusably missed.
In the video below, you’ll see Young use his speed to make a move to the inside of the right tackle. The Michigan offensive lineman isn’t quick enough to recover, so the Wolverines’ right guard comes over to help. But even that’s not enough to slow down Ohio State’s star defensive end.
As a result of both Michigan offensive lineman getting beat, they literally hug onto Young to prevent him from making any further progress.

That’s without a doubt a holding penalty which should’ve been called. Not sure how the refs missed this one.
Fortunately for the Buckeyes, it didn’t matter. Ohio State has beaten its most hated rival for the eighth straight year.
