On Saturday afternoon, the Minnesota Gophers took care of business against the Maryland Terrapins with a 52-10 win.

With the victory, Minnesota moves to 8-0 on the season and is a legitimate contender in the Big Ten West so far this season.

Beyond that, the Gophers have the chance to emerge as a legitimate contender for a Big Ten title in two weeks when they take on the Penn State Nittany Lions.

After Penn State beat Michigan State this afternoon, both the Nittany Lions and Gophers will get a week off before they battle it out on November 9.

As the two undefeated programs prepare to face off, Minnesota sent a message to ESPN's College GameDay.

The Gophers are hoping College GameDay will make an appearance in Minneapolis for the very first time.

The team penned a letter to the crew breaking down their resume.

Minnesota and Penn State will have some stiff competition for College GameDay in two weeks.

LSU and Alabama are set to face off on the same weekend. Tuscaloosa seems like a logical place to visit as the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the country face off.

We'll find out later tonight where GameDay will go next weekend. However we'll have to wait until next weekend to find out if Minnesota is awarded a GameDay appearance on November 9.
