Minnesota Names Interim Coach Tracy Claeys Full-Time Head Coach

In a move that was speculated after Jerry Kill stepped down earlier this month and defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys took over, Minnesota has removed the Claeys' interim tag and hired him as a full-time head coach.

Claeys receive a three-year contract from UM.

It sounds like Claeys will receive some solid compensation for his new role as well.

Congratulations to Claeys, who has filled in admirably for Kill. He not only has a firm grasp on what his predecessor did to achieve success at Minnesota, but also played a huge role in that success as an assistant coach.

It appears that the Gopher program is in good hands.
