Alabama Native Ameer Abdullah Tweets In Support Of The UAB Football Program

Star running back Ameer Abdullah may play his football at Nebraska, but he comes from Homewood, Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham, and he has some thoughts about the situation going on with the UAB football program.

For those who haven't followed the story, over the weekend reports came outthat UAB would become the first FBS-level school to fold its football program in nearly a decade. Bill Clark, head coach of the Blazers, who went 6-6 this season and are bowl eligible, has not been given a decision yet, but believes that the end of the program is imminent. 

While things don't look good for UAB's program, it is nice to see a high-profile player like Abdullah throw his support behind the Blazers players and coaches.
