The situation with Nebraska running back Maurice Washington has taken yet another serious turn. He is now the subject of an arrest warrant.

According to the Omaha World-Herald, a California judge has issued a warrant for Washington's arrest. He is reportedly facing two charges of child pornography.

The charges include "felony possession of a video depicting a person under 18 engaging in or simulating sexual conduct and misdemeanor disorderly conduct for distributing the video without consent." The news comes on the heels of a report that he sent a sex video of a female under 18 to the woman in the video.

The incident is being referred to as a case of "Revenge Porn."

Per the report, Washington's attorney has stated that he will return to California to face the charges.

Earlier this week, the Nebraska Cornhuskers released a statement that they were monitoring the situation and were made aware that potential charges against Washington were forthcoming.

Washington was Nebraska's third-leading rusher this past season, picking up 455 yards on 77 carries while adding another 221 receiving yards on 24 receptions. He had four total touchdowns.

As of writing, the team has not yet made a new statement regarding the charges.

However, given what has happened, Washington could be facing a tough road back to Scott Frost's lineup.

Stay tuned.
