Nebraska football is 4-2 so far this season. The Huskers have wins over Northwestern, Illinois, Northern Illinois and South Alabama. But two disappointing losses to Ohio State and Colorado have put a bit of a damper on the season.
Perhaps off-season expectations and aspirations were a bit too high entering this year. After all, the Huskers went just 4-8 last season.
Now, midway through the regular season, Nebraska needs just two more wins to go bowling. ESPN, in its latest projections, is predicting the Huskers will do just that.
ESPN has released its latest predictions for every game left on Nebraska’s schedule. With six games remaining, the predictions suggest the Huskers will go 2-4 the rest of the way.
Take a look at Nebraska’s chances to win each of its remaining games, according to ESPN:
- at Minnesota – 31.8%
- Indiana – 59.9%
- at Purdue – 58.7%
- #8 Wisconsin – 15.1%
- at Maryland – 30.1%
- #17 Iowa – 27.2%
ESPN projects the Huskers will beat Indiana and Purdue on the road. But it also predicts Nebraska will lose to Minnesota, Wisconsin, Maryland and Iowa. Not the result NU fans are hoping for.
Luckily for Nebraska, two of its toughest remaining games are both at home. No. 8 Wisconsin and No. 17 Iowa both travel to Memorial Stadium for big-time games in November. With their home crowd behind them, can the Huskers pull off several upsets later this season?
