Failed Physical Ends Former Nebraska Quarterback Taylor Martinez's Time With Philadelphia Eagles Days After 3-Year Deal

A day after the conclusion of the 2014 NFL Draft, Taylor Martinez agreed to a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. The former Nebraska quarterback reportedly signed a three-year free-agent contract with Chip Kelly's team. The contract has been voided, however, as Martinez apparently failed a physical.

According to Rivals.com's Sean Callahan, the Eagles flew Martinez to Philadelphia and evaluated his medical file from Nebraska. They performed x-rays on his injured foot and he did not pass the physical. Martinez missed the majority of the 2013 season with a foot injury.

"It's just another obstacle for Taylor that he will overcome as he has since high school," Martinez's father, Casey, said

Taylor Martinez will reportedly consider getting surgery on his foot at an attempt to make a full recovery.
