Maurice Washington has taken the next step in his legal situation. The Nebraska running back went back to California to self-surrender, with a warrant out for his arrest.

Washington is accused to possessing and sharing a sexual video of a minor. The video in question does not show Washington, per reports, but a girl he was allegedly seeking a relationship with.

The charges against Washington include one felony and one misdemeanor. He has been in Nebraska for spring practice, but has been participating on a limited basis.

As of yesterday, Maurice Washington was expected back in Nebraska last night, per Scott Frost.

From the Omaha World-Herald:

Washington was not at Monday’s Husker football practice, and coach Scott Frost said Washington was in California to get “processed.” Frost said he expected Washington to return to Lincoln on Monday night.

“Working through his lawyer, I know he wanted to get out there and surrender and satisfy the warrant as quickly as he could,” Frost said. “They had it worked out for today, so Maurice flew out to California (Sunday) night.”

Per the report, Washington allegedly sent the girl the video that she appeared in as a minor, after she rebuffed his advances.

This whole situation is obviously far from over, given the gravity of the charges against Washington.
