Nebraska's Nathan Gerry Releases Apology On Twitter For Bowl Ineligibility

Nebraska safety Nathan Gerry released an apology on Twitter today after it was announced he was ineligible for the Music City Bowl.

Earlier today, Nebraska head coach Mike Riley announced that Nebraska players Nathan Gerry and Boaz Joseph would be ineligible for the upcoming Music City Bowl against Tennessee due to violation of university policy. This evening, Senior safety Nathan Gerry, academically ineligible, took to Twitter to issue a formal apology to all of his followers, as well as thank all of his family, friends and fans for their support the past four years.

Antonio Reed will likely fill in for Gerry at the safety position.

Gerry was named third-team All-Big Ten by coaches and second-team All-Big Ten by the media. He recorded four interceptions and 73 total tackles during the 2016 season.

The Music City Bowl will take place on December 30. Nebraska is a 4.5-point underdog.
