There are just under three months until the Nebraska football team returns to the field for the Spring Game, but the team appears to have just given fans a reason to be excited early.
According to the Lincoln Journal Star, the school has just announced that tickets for the game will go on sale on to the public on February 6. Season ticket holders will be given the first opportunity to buy on February 5.
Per the report, Nebraska is going to make 15,000 tickets available for guaranteed purchase. However, the actual attendance is likely to exceed that mark by leaps and bounds.
Last year's spring game sold four times that much on the first day they were available, and the game itself set a new record with over 86,000 fans in attendance.
Led by Scott Frost, the Cornhuskers are hoping to get back into a consistent winning form in 2019 following the debacle that was the 2018 season.
In 2018, Nebraska finished with a 4-8 record after starting the season 0-6.
One of the lone bright spots was freshman quarterback Adrian Martinez, who completed 64.6-percent of his passes for 2,617 yards and 17 touchdowns in 11 games. He added another 629 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground while averaging 4.5 yards per carry.
