Nebraska Fans Are Not High On DC Bob Diaco Right Now

Nebraska hired former UConn head coach and Notre Dame defensive coordinator Bob Diaco back in January. Things could be going better.

Diaco was fired from his UConn job in December, but didn't have to wait long to get back on his feet, taking over the Nebraska defense weeks later. He replaced Mark Banker, whose contract wasn't renewed after the season.

The Huskers nearly blew its home game against Arkansas State last week, outlasting the Red Wolves for a 43-36 win.

Today, it doesn't appear that the Huskers will be so lucky. On the road against the Oregon Ducks, Diaco's defense has surrendered 42 points and 409 yards. There are still over 12 minutes left in the third quarter, as of this writing. Diaco's only coached a game and a half for the Huskers, but some fans of the Big Red have already seen enough. He's getting roasted by Nebraska fans and others across the college football world right now.

It is rare for a coach to be this embattled less than two games into his tenure somewhere, but things have been ugly for the Huskers defense this season.
