The Huskers have made their athletic director hire.
Nebraska has its new athletic director.
The Huskers have plucked Bill Moos from Washington State, where he'd been since 2010.
Moos, a Washington State grad, had been Oregon's AD from 1995-2007, helping raise the athletics budget from $18.5 million to $40 million. He left after a reported dispute with Nike's Phil Knight.
College football insider Pete Thamel calls the hire "stunning."
The news of the hire is, overall, going over well, though it's surprising.
Up first for Moos at Nebraska: deciding what to do with the football program. Mike Riley is in Year 3 leading the Huskers and he certainly seems to be on his way out.
