Riley, 61, has been at Oregon State since 2003. At Oregon State, he's won 93 games and was the Pac-10 Coach of the Year in 2008.

He previously served as the San Diego Chargers head coach for three seasons, among other positions.

Riley will replace outgoing coach Bo Pelini, who failed to win a conference championship in his seven seasons at the helm of the program.
