Tanner Lee is off to the NFL.

Former Tulane transfer turned Nebraska quarterback Tanner Lee announced his plans to enter the 2018 NFL Draft.

The Thursday afternoon news comes as a surprise to many after Lee struggled to find success during the 2017 season after coming into the year as a dark horse Heisman Trophy candidate.

Here's the announcement from Lee.

During his three collegiate seasons, Lee racked up 6,744 passing yards on a subpar 55.2-percent passing, with 46 touchdowns to 37 interceptions.

Many believed Lee could improve upon his lackluster 2017 season by working with new head coach, and former Nebraska quarterback Scott Frost. However, Lee will take his talents to the NFL.

Although he struggled with accuracy issues in college, scouts will love his arm talent. He just has to hope it will be enough to impress scouts.
