Nebraska football is 6-0 for the first time since 2001.
Nebraska didn't play its best game of the season on Saturday, but the Cornhuskers did emerge with a 27-22 win over Indiana to move to 6-0. While Nebraska has been a solid program for much of the 21st century, this actually marks the first time the team has held such a mark since all the way back in 2001. As ESPN's Brett McMurphy notes, that was the last time the team played in the national title game.
Nebraska, back in 2001, lost to Miami in the Rose Bowl - which also doubled as the BCS title game. While the outcome wasn't fantastic, we imagine Cornhuskers fans would take it nowadays.
Will Nebraska keep its special season going? The Cornhuskers get Purdue next Saturday.
