Nebraska vs. Florida Atlantic – Game Time, TV Schedule, Line, Preview, Predictions

This certainly isn't the most appealing matchup of the first week of the college football season, but there this has the potential to be an entertaining game, as the Nebraska Cornhuskers -- the 22nd ranked team in the country according to the AP and Coaches Polls -- host the Florida Atlantic Owls.

While we know a fair amount about Nebraska -- namely that running back Ameer Abdullah may be the best back in the country -- but FAU is a bit of an unknown. The team is now coached by Charlie Partridge, who hopes to improve on last year's 6-6 record.

Date: Saturday, August 30, 2014

Time: 3:30 PM EST

TV Channel: Big Ten Network

Location: Memorial Stadium (Lincoln, NE)

Betting Line: Nebraska -23 via 5Dimes

Prediction: This one could get ugly. Abdullah should be able to run all over the Owls' defense, quarterback Tommy Armstrong will likely look to get the ball into wide receiver Kenny Bell's hands as much as possible, and it'd be a shock if defensive end Randy Gregory didn't terrorize the Owls' offense. FAU will lean heavily on dual-threat quarterback Jaquez Johnson -- who led the team in passing and rushing last year -- but it probably won't be enough.

We're gonna take Nebraska to run away with this, and while the betting line is pretty high, Nebraska should cover the spread.
