A recent quote from Nebraska athletic director Bill Moos has the Twitter world in a little bit of a tizzy. Moos opened his appearance at the Omaha Press Club with, "my football coach is still undefeated, so life is good," according to Chris Heady of the World-Herald.
There is plenty of hype around new head coach Scott Frost. However, that wasn't the comment that got everyone's attention. Moos appeared to call out Jim Harbaugh and Urban Meyer, and he might live to regret it.
Moos is very confident in his team's ability.
From the World-Herald:
“We’re gonna run that uptempo offense we saw (at the spring game), and we're gonna get the Blackshirts back to being Blackshirts. And that's extremely important,” Moos said. “You’ve got Urban Meyer and Jim Harbaugh thinking, ‘We better put a little more into that Nebraska game coming up.’ And that's the way we want it. They're running a little bit scared right now. And they won't admit it. We'll leave that at that.”
Moos is new to the Big Ten, after getting hired by the university in October. He might want to avoid calling out two of the big-name coaches in the conference, especially Urban Meyer, whose team defeated Nebraska 56-14 last season.
It's good to have confidence, but statements like these tend to live on, and not in a good way.
It'll be interesting to see how the Huskers perform under Scott Frost.
