Nebraska had its scheduled season opener against Akron cancelled due to inclement weather. As a result, the Huskers have an opening on their schedule.

October 27 is Nebraska's scheduled bye, so that's when a game would most likely have to occur. There are several options for the Huskers.

It seems like several people are suggesting UCF, who also has an open date on October 27 and just had its game cancelled for this coming weekend due to Hurricane Florence. That would be a dream story line game, seeing Scott Frost coach against his former program.

One can dream about a Scott Frost Bowl between Nebraska and UCF, but it doesn't seem likely. Nebraska beat writer Sam McKewon has outlined a bunch of potential solutions and possible opponents for the Huskers.

Nebraska lost its actual season opener last week to Colorado in a heartbreaker. They will try to get in the win column this weekend against Troy.

Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET on BTN.
