Gerry could make his debut this weekend.
After a stellar four-year career with the Cornhuskers, Nate Gerry has been called up to the big leagues.
The fifth-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in April's draft, Gerry has been promoted to Philly's active roster, the team announced today.
He will take the place of safety Chris Maragos, a special teams stalwart.
Gerry played linebacker and safety at Nebraska, and is occupying for the former position in the pros.
A three-time All-Big Ten selection (Honorable Mention twice and third-team once), Gerry's best bet to make an impact might be on special teams, where Maragos excelled.
Philadelphia plays the Washington Redskins this weekend, so it will be interesting to see if Gerry is active.
