Report: Bret Bielema Was Offered The Nebraska Job On Wednesday, But Opted To Remain At Arkansas

It appears Mike Riley was not Nebraska's first choice for a new head football coach.

According to a report by Gil Brandt, a senior analyst for NFL.com, the Huskers offered the job to Bret Bielema on Wednesday. Bielema, though, opted to remain at Arkansas, where he's been for the past two seasons.

Football Scoop first reported that Nebraska was interested in Bielema, saying the two sides were in "serious discussion." About an hour after that news was reported, Bielema took to Twitter to subtly hint that he intends on remaining in Fayetteville, Ark. Later Wednesday night, a four-star linebacker recruit tweeted out a picture of himself with Bielema.

Bielema told ESPN.com's Chris Low that he's "all Hog."
