Rex Burkhead May Play Saturday

The senior has missed five games and left early in three others.

According to ESPN, Nebraska running back Rex Burkhead could play this Saturday in its game against Minnesota.

Burkhead was an All-Big Ten running back last season for the Cornhuskers, rushing for over 1,300 yards and 15 touchdowns. The senior sprained his knee in the season opener. He has tried to return in three different games, only to aggravate the injury more.

It would be a fitting game for Burkhead to return: Saturday's game marks Nebraska's senior night. It would also be a lift for a Nebraska team that is fighting to maintain a lead in the Big Ten's Legends Division.
