Venric Mark Announces Decision To Transfer To D-II West Texas A&M

In a fairly surprising move, former Northwestern star Venric Mark announced that he will transfer to a Division II school today. Mark -- who announced his intention to transfer on Aug. 13 -- said today that he has transferred to West Texas A&M. It is a surprise, because Mark attracted interest from multiple FBS schools, including Baylor and Oklahoma State, but ultimately decided that he wanted to become a Buffalo.

When asked why he decided to go to a smaller school rather than a more notable one, Mark explained that it ultimately came down to being near his family.

This had to have been a hard decision for Mark, and it's admirable that the former All-American is transferring to a smaller school so he can be near his mother and grandmother.
