On Friday, four-star linebacker Cody Simon announced that his decision would come down to three programs from the Big Ten. Well, the outside linebacker from St. Peters Prep is clearly ready to commit from now.
Simon, the No. 10 recruit at his position according to 247Sports, was deciding between Nebraska, Ohio State and Penn State. All three programs could certainly use his athleticism for their defense.
The four-star linebacker from New Jersey didn't want to wait any longer to make his decision official. He'll be playing for the Buckeyes in 2020.
Simon went on Twitter to announce his commitment to Ohio State.
"After much deliberation with my family and coaches, I have made the decision to attend THE Ohio State University," Simon wrote on Twitter. "I am grateful to now be able to focus on my team and our success for the 2019 season."
Here is his official announcement:
Ohio State has 14 hard commits for its 2020 recruiting class, which includes a pair of five-star prospects in Julian Fleming and Paris Johnson Jr.
The Buckeyes had the No. 2 recruiting class in the Big Ten heading into Saturday, as they trailed Michigan by a narrow margin. However, the addition of Simon might be enough to help them reclaim their spot at the top of the recruiting rankings.
