4-Star Michigan RB Commit Matt Falcon Tells Other Recruits "The Best Players In The State Play For Michigan"

Matt Falcon, a four-star running back in the 2016 class, committed to Michigan last week. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound prospect is an in-state kid out of Southfield, Mich.

Falcon would like more in-state prospects to come with him to Ann Arbor.

In an interview with MLive.com's Nick Baumgardner, Falcon said "the best players in the state play for Michigan."

From the story:

"The best players in the state play for Michigan," Falcon says. "I'm trying to recruit names in the state and trying to get them to join the family.

"That's what I tell them when we talk. It comes up in conversation. I'll keep on them about it and see what they have to say about it."

The recruiting rankings suggest Falcon's "the best players in the state play for Michigan" comment isn't entirely correct.

In the 2015 class, eight of the top 10 prospects in the state of Michigan committed elsewhere. The No. 1 prospect, running back Mike Weber, pledged to Ohio State, as did the No. 6 prospect, defensive end Joshua Alabi. Michigan State also got commitments from two of the state's 10 best players. Minnesota, Wisconsin, Tennessee and Western Michigan each received one commitment from a player in the state's top 10, too.

Perhaps Jim Harbaugh will do a better job getting Michigan's top talent to play their college football in Ann Arbor.
