5-Star CB Shaun Wade Is The Latest Ohio State Player To Lose His Black Stripe

Another Buckeye freshman has officially joined the team.

Five-star cornerback Shaun Wade was one of the top players Ohio State signed in the 2017 class.

Today, he lost his black stripe and became a Buckeye.

Urban Meyer makes freshmen wear black stripes on their helmet when they first arrive, and they officially earn their standing on the team when they lose it. Four-star offensive lineman Thayer Munford and four-star linebacker Pete Werner lost theirs on Wednesday.

Ohio State opens up its 2017 season exactly two weeks from today against Indiana.
