5-Star Taron Vincent, Nation's No. 1 DT, Announces Ohio State Commitment

Ohio State picked up a major commitment tonight.

Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy five-star defensive tackle Taron Vincent announced his commitment to the Buckeyes on Twitter a short time ago.

Vincent is the No. 1 defensive tackle in the 2018 class and the top player in the state of Florida. That's pretty good.

Vincent's commitment comes after he was projected to choose Ohio State earlier in the day. He visited campus last week.

The son of former NFL standout Troy Vincent, he also had Florida State in the running for his services.

Vincent is the No. 14 overall player in the 2018 class according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

As you would expect, Ohio State already has a very strong class in the works in 2018. Vincent is the fifth commit for the Buckeyes, who currently have the seventh-rated recruiting haul.

Vincent is the first five-star commit for OSU in this year's recruiting cycle. The other four commits --quarterback Emory Jones, safety Jaiden Woodbey, all-purpose back Jaelen Gill and running back Brian Snead--are all rated four stars.
