Five-star wide receiver Julian Fleming is taking things relatively slow.
Last month, he revealed a pretty star-studded top 10 schools list.
Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, USC, and Virginia Tech all made the cut.
The Pennsylvania native is one of the elite players in the class of 2020.
247Sports ranks him No. 5 overall, and No. 1 in both the state and among wide receivers in the class.
PennLive.com recently caught up with the local star, and he made it clear that he’s in no real rush to make a decision.
From the report:
The 6-3, 215-pounder said he likely will not make a final decision until next year, saying: “I’m definitely going to wait it out a little bit.”
The state 2A player of the year believes the final decision will be his to make. His family so far has not given him any input, he said.
“I get to talk with a lot of coaches. I get to get my family out of the area for a little bit. It’s a fun overall process. It’s stressful at times but overall it has been a great experience for me.”
Penn State is considered the favorite by most of the 247 crystal ball voters, and the Nittany Lions could have another interesting edge in the Julian Fleming recruitment.
82-percent of the crystal ball predictions are for Penn State, with Ohio State running in second.
Fleming also admitted that he takes a lot of trips to Happy Valley because his girlfriend goes there:
Fleming noted that he was headed to Penn State right after the basketball game Friday night, but with a chuckle said it was to see his girlfriend who goes there.
“I might stop in and say something to the coaches,” he said.
“I go up every couple of weeks, whenever I get the chance, to check in on her and check in with the coaches, too,” he said.
Fleming says Michigan’s hire of Josh Gattis, who previously recruited him at both PSU and Alabama is a “gamechanger,” and praised the southern hospitality of Georgia, so clearly this one isn’t close to over yet.
