A.J. Hawk Reportedly Signs With The Atlanta Falcons

A.J. Hawk is back in the NFL.

A.J. Hawk, the former Ohio State star linebacker, has reportedly agreed to a contract with the Atlanta Falcons. The 32-year-old linebacker played for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2015 and was with the Green Bay Packers from 2006-14.

Mike McCartney posted the news on Twitter.

Hawk was the No. 5 overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft out of Ohio State, where he was a back-to-back unanimous first-team All-American.

In the NFL, Hawk has won a Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers. He's totaled 945 tackles, 20 sacks, three forced fumbles and nine interceptions throughout his career.

It was reported earlier today that the Falcons had interest in Hawk. Atlanta has a bevy of linebacker injuries and is need of depth at the position. Sean Weatherspoon is out for the season (torn Achilles) and Paul Worrilow (groin), De’Vondre Campbell (ankle) and Deion Jones (calf) are hurt.

Atlanta (3-1) is set to play at Denver (4-0) on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. E.T.
