Urban Meyer to the NFL?

Will Urban Meyer ever make the move to the NFL? This is something we've often wondered when it comes to the nation's top coaches.

Nick Saban had an unsuccessful stint as an NFL head coach. Yet he's dominated college football as LSU and Alabama.

Perhaps some coaches are just made for the college game. But is Urban Meyer?

On Tuesday former Utah quarterback and first overall pick Alex Smith joined the Rich Eisen Show. During his time on the show, Eisen asked Smith about his former (and current) coaches including Meyer, Jim Harbaugh, and Andy Reid.

Smith, who finished fourth in Heisman voting in 2004, revealed an interesting tidbit about one of his former coaches. He said Meyer has expressed interest in coaching in the NFL, at least in the past.

Smith said the NFL has "always intrigued" his former coach. He cites Meyer's leadership as a primary reason he could be successful at the professional level.

Eisen and Smith then discussed the connections Meyer has with the Patriots. Here's the video.

What do you think? Should Urban make the move to the NFL, or is he too invested at the collegiate level to make a change?
