Over the weekend the Philadelphia Eagles signed formerly retired quarterback Josh McCown to be Carson Wentz's backup for the 2019 season. The move came after Nate Sudfeld suffered a broken wrist and Cody Kessler suffered a concussion.

After the Eagles signed McCown, they needed to cut someone from the roster.

Former Ohio State star Braxton Miller was the casualty.

However, just a few days after being cut by the Eagles, Miller landed with another Super Bowl (maybe?) contender.

According to multiple reports, the former Buckeye signed a deal with the Cleveland Browns.

Here's what the Browns said about the move:

"The Browns on Wednesday signed WR Braxton Miller. In a corresponding move, the team waived TE Mik'Quan Deane (non-football illness).

Miller is in his third NFL season out of Ohio State. Originally a third-round pick by Houston in 2016, Miller has appeared in 21 games with nine starts. He has 34 career receptions for 261 yards and two touchdowns. He is a native of Springfield, Ohio."

Miller had 13 receiving yards total in two preseason games for Philadelphia.

It's a key signing for the Browns. Miller can work as a return man and adds flexibility at the wide receiver position. Antonio Callaway is dealing with an injury - and a four-game suspension - opening the door for others at the position.

Stay tuned for the latest.
