Cardale Jones Was Getting Prank Called Throughout The NFL Draft

There isn't a more cruel time to prank call a football player than during the NFL Draft.

These hopeful future pros are waiting anxiously for a phone call from an NFL team that will change their life. The absolute last thing they want is to pick up a phone call from an unknown number - maybe this is it, they think - only to have someone pranking them on the other end.

This is what happened to former Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones this weekend, though.

Jones, who was picked by the Buffalo Bills in the fourth round on Saturday, said he was getting prank calls throughout the weekend.

From CBS

“I thought initially it was a prank call," Jones told WGR Sports Radio 550. “I was getting calls from some weird numbers all day, and I would answer and they would hang up. So I didn't believe it until really my name went across the TV screen. I was watching it with my family and my name popped up on the screen and I went crazy.”

As for the prank calls, Jones explained, "I guess they were expecting me to see a weird number and think I was getting drafted by that team,” he said. “I don't know if it was one of my buddies playing a joke, but it wasn't a great feeling I'll tell you that.”

If it was actually one of Jones' friends doing the prank calling, the former Ohio State quarterback has every right to stop being friends with him.

A prank call to a hopeful NFL draftee on draft day isn't funny. It's just mean.

Jones didn't let the prank calls stop him from enjoying the real one, at least.

Jones was the No. 139 pick overall, one of 12 Ohio State players to get drafted.
