Jackson Carman, a five-star offensive lineman at Clemson, was the No. 1 recruit in the state of Ohio coming out of 2018.

Typically, Ohio's top recruits stay home and play at Ohio State, but Carman opted to commit to the Tigers.

Carman revealed that something Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney told him about Urban Meyer played into his decision.

Swinney didn't come out and deny this, either.

Of course, Swinney ended up being right. Meyer announced at the end of the regular season that he was retiring.

Today, Carman was asked about Meyer's retirement.

“I just kind of smile. It's funny how the universe works. It's a nice -- it's irony," he said.

Ohio State fans are surely going to take that well...
