If it didn't already feel like the college football season was upon us, it will now. Thursday, the preseason college football Amway Coaches' Poll was released, highlighting the top 25 teams in the country. As expected, Ohio State, the reigning national champion, checks in at No. 1. The Buckeyes return three star quarterbacks, a star running back, and a loaded defense. They're officially the preseason favorite to win it all again. But they'll have challengers.
TCU, which finished last season ranked No. 3 in the country after dismantling Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl, comes in at No. 2. Alabama, last year's SEC champion, is No. 3. Baylor, which finished in a tie for first place in the Big 12 last year rounds out the top four.
Here's the entire list, via the USA Today:
1. Ohio State
6. Michigan State
8. Florida State
11. Notre Dame
15. Ole Miss
16. Arizona State
17. Georgia Tech

Mississippi State, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State are the first three out of the poll, for the record.
It won't surprise anyone to see that the SEC features eight teams in the rankings. The Pac-12 finishes with six. The ACC, Big Ten and Big 12 all have three teams each. The last two spots go to Notre Dame, an independent, and Boise State, which plays in the Mountain West.
