The Big Ten Championship is most likely the only thing on fans’ minds today in Columbus, but the Ohio State basketball team is also in action this Saturday.
Ohio State’s football program earns most of the recognition for going undefeated in the regular season. However, Chris Holtmann has the basketball team undefeated as well.
Earlier this week, the Buckeyes defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels on the road in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Now, they’re trying to take down the Penn State Nittany Lions.
During the second half of action, junior forward Kaleb Wesson slammed down an emphatic dunk to extend Ohio State’s lead to 13 points.
The officiating crew called a technical foul on Wesson because he hung on the rim. Upon further review though, it didn’t appear that he hung on the rim for more than a second.

It’s not unusual for refs to call technical fouls on players that hang on the rim. That being said, Wesson didn’t really showboat or hang on for an unnecessary amount of time.
Penn State got a brutal technical foul later in the half, too.
Softest technical foul I’ve ever seen on Lamar Stevens right there to basically seal it for Ohio State. What a stupid series of events. A Tech for dribbling the ball too hard…only in the Big Ten.

Wesson hasn’t allowed that call to affect his performance this afternoon. He leads the Buckeyes in scoring today as they try to take care of business at home.
This game is available on the Big Ten Network.
