ESPN Analyst Crushes NCAA For "Weak" Handling Of Chase Young
The NCAA made an interesting decision on Wednesday involving Ohio State superstar Chase Young. His suspension has now been changed to two games.
From the moment the NCAA announced that Young was suspended they received backlash. Many people didn't like that he faced consequences for a loan that he already paid off.
Perhaps the NCAA's decision to reduce his suspension sat well with those at Ohio State, but it remains an issue for ESPN analyst Emmanuel Acho.
Acho was on ESPN's Get Up to discuss the NCAA's recent decision.
The main issue that Acho has with the NCAA is that he doesn't believe they stand for anything. He rather they stick with their decision - albeit a "ridiculous" one - instead of retracting it days later.
Here's what Acho had to say on Get Up, via 247Sports:
“The NCAA, you look weak,” Acho said. “Figure out what you want to do. If you’re going to suspend him for four games, which is utterly ridiculous, or you’re not going to suspend him at all. But then you go out and suspend him for four, then realize it’s an idiotic decision. Backdoor the decision, retract it and then try to suspend him for two games, two meaningless games? The NCAA, they look weak. Figure out what you’re going to stand for. Right now, they don’t stand for anything.”
Acho wasn't the only college football analyst to put the NCAA on blast. FS1's Joel Klatt shared his thoughts about the suspension on Twitter.
Young's suspension won't ultimately hurt Ohio State since he's only missing games against Maryland and Rutgers. However, it doesn't mean this entire process wasn't a huge headache for the program.
The Buckeyes will have Young back in the mix next weekend against the Penn State Nittany Lions.
