Ohio State lost a plethora of playmakers to this year’s NFL Draft, but head coach Ryan Day still has more than enough talent to lead this program to the promised land. It also helps that he has a potential-packed quarterback on his roster in C.J. Stroud.
Two weeks ago, Day named Stroud the starting quarterback for the Buckeyes. When speaking to the media, Day highlighted Stroud’s decision-making, leadership skills and accuracy. College football fans will have to wait a few more hours before they see the talented quarterback in action.
Despite being on the road for Week 1, Ohio State is heavily favored against Minnesota. The current oddsmakers have the Buckeyes listed as 13.5-point favorites. Even the computer model for ESPN has a lopsided projection.
ESPN’s Football Power Index is giving Ohio State an 86 percent chance of defeating Minnesota tonight.
Tonight’s matchup should be a really good test for Ohio State.
Minnesota might not have as much firepower as Ohio State, but P.J. Fleck has an experienced team this fall. He also has a nice one-two punch on offense with running back Mo Ibrahim and quarterback Tanner Morgan.
Kickoff for tonight’s game is at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
