Who is atop the Big Ten at the conclusion of spring ball?
The Big Ten should once again boast a number of top teams in 2017. Last year, the conference placed a team in the College Football Playoff for the third straight year, and it wasn't even the league's champion.
So who is the favorite of the group coming out of spring practice. According to ESPN, it is a familiar name: Ohio State.
ESPN's post-spring too-early conference power rankings are out, and the Buckeyes are No. 1 in the Big Ten. Below is what writer Dan Murphy had to say about OSU:
From a talent and depth standpoint, no one in the Big Ten has a better chance to play for a national championship in 2017 than the Buckeyes. Their defensive front promises to be one of the toughest in the nation. Their offense, now under the direction of Kevin Wilson, will try to push the ball downfield more often. If the younger receivers are ready by September, this team won’t have many weaknesses.
The full 1-to-14 rankings for the Big Ten can be found here. The top five squads are listed below.
1. Ohio State
2. Penn State
We can't wait for the season to start.
