The debate was had last year and it'll be had again this week: should the College Football Playoff committee take the four most-deserving teams or the four best teams?
Right now - and probably later tonight - the College Football Playoff's top four teams are Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma and Iowa. Are those the four best teams in the country? What would the top four look like if it was just the four best teams in the country?
Maybe something like this.
Here's the top 10 of ESPN's FPI, which, basically, ranks teams based on which are supposed to be the best.
Which is a better indication of college football's best teams - ESPN's FPI or the College Football Playoff rankings?
The rankings come out tonight at 7 p.m. E.T. on ESPN.
