Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott has the team's owner just a bit upset.
According to TMZ, Ezekiel Elliott "browsed" at “Herban Legends,” a recreational marijuana store just before the Cowboys game against the Seahawks. The shop is just a five minute drive from the Space Needle in Seattle. The website also released a cellphone video of the Ezekiel Elliott marijuana shop visit. You can watch the TMZ cellphone video of Elliott's trip here:
Elliott was hardly subtle with his interesting tourist visit. Apparently, he posed for pics with fans outside the shop.
Sources claim that Zeke did not purchase any of the controversial merchandise. Still, this is definitely not the best look for Elliott. Accordingly, he is still getting major heat from the Cowboys organization for his decision. The use of recreational marijuana is legal in Seattle, but the NFL forbids its use. Players who test positive for the substance could be suspended.
According to reports, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he was “troubled” by the Ezekiel Elliott marijuana shop video.
“Well, I think that, in and of itself, the reason we are talking about is in a way part of the learning process, but it’s not good. It’s just not good. It’s just not good.”
The Cowboys have not released any statement about whether or not the Ezekiel Elliott marijuana shop visit will result in disciplinary action. Since he did not purchase anything, he will probably just get a minor scolding.
It is safe to say that the viral scandal didn't affect his performance. Last night, the Seahawks topped the Cowboys 27-17. Elliott rushed for 48 yards on seven carries, including a 13-yard run where he knocked Seattle safety Kam Chancellor backward.
The Cowboys welcome the Houston Texans on Sept. 1 for their season opener.
What do you think about Ezekiel Elliot's marijuana shop visit? Should the Cowboys punish him?
