Former Ohio State Player Leaving Coaching Job At Purdue To Join Luke Fickell

A former Ohio State standout is leaving his current coaching job to join his old coach Luke Fickell at Cincinnati.

Purdue co-defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman announced this morning that he would be taking an undisclosed assistant coaching position under Fickell at UC.

Freeman played linebacker at Ohio State from 2004-08. He was a two-time All-Big Ten Second Team selection while playing under Fickell, who was the team's co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach.

Freeman began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at OSU in 2010, before working at Kent State in 2011-12. He was hired to be Purdue's linebackers coach in 2013, and was promoted to co-DC in 2016.
