Frank Beamer Lauds Ohio State Matchup As "Most Anticipated" In Lane Stadium History

Last September, Ohio State, which eventually won the College Football Playoff, lost at home to Virginia Tech, which went on to win just seven games. The result was one of the more surprising of the college football season, for obvious reasons. This year, the Buckeyes have the chance for revenge, but they'll have to do it on the road at VT's Lane Stadium.

Naturally, fans are excited to catch the second leg of the home-and-home. Hokies head coach Frank Beamer is even going as far as to call it the "most anticipated" game in the history of Lane Stadium, which was built in 1965.

Beamer also joked that he hopes Ohio State's quarterbacks wind up "fighting" in the end zone before the contest. For reference, the Buckeyes have three signal-callers capable of leading the team this fall.

Virginia Tech, especially in the late 1990s and early 2000s, had some teams competing for national championships, so it's rather significant that Beamer thinks this particular matchup is the most anticipated in school history. Regardless, it's going to be an electric atmosphere. Can Virginia Tech pull off the unthinkable twice?
