Freddie Prinze Jr. Is Getting Into It With Ohio State Fans On Twitter

Here is a story you probably never thought you'd see. Famous actor Freddie Prinze Jr. is getting into it with some Ohio State fans on Twitter tonight.

You probably remember Prinze from his roles in Summer Catch, I Know What You Did Last Summer and She's All That, among other flicks. He has been out of the Hollywood spotlight for a few years, but somehow found himself in the cross-hairs of some OSU fans tonight.

It all started when Prinze responded to this tweet from Vegas insider R.J. Bell alleging that Urban Meyer is pushing back against the possibility of even a short suspension for his handling of domestic violence allegations against former assistant Zach Smith. According to Bell, Meyer is hoping for "time served."

Prinze clearly thinks that is dumb.

Now, Prinze says he could care less about Meyer and college football in general. He was only criticizing the use of "time served" for someone like Meyer when it is usually reserved for prisoners. That didn't stop Ohio State fans from coming after him though, and it certainly didn't prevent him from firing back when they did. Here is a small sampling of the exchanges:

Prinze cleared up his intentions again after Cleveland.com sports columnist Doug Lesmerises jokingly (we think) invited him on a podcast to discuss the ongoing Meyer situation.

He then dropped the mic with his final tweet.

Well then. Freddie certainly got more than he bargained for when he first commented on Bell's report.

The power of social media, indeed.
