Here's What Record J.T. Barrett Could Break This Year

Ohio State quarterback JT Barrett could be in for a big season.

JT Barrett enters his senior season trying to lead Ohio State to the Big Ten title and the national championship. He also enters it on the verge of making some statistical history.

Barrett has thrown for 69 touchdowns and rushed for 31 more in his three seasons in Columbus. If he rushes for nine scores this year, he joins some impressive company.

ESPN broke it all down in this piece on records that could fall in college football this year.

J.T. Barrett is on pace to become the 12th member of college football's exclusive 40-40 club -- 40 rushing touchdowns and 40 passing touchdowns. To make the list, Barrett needs nine rushing TDs this season, something he has done in each of his first three years. If the offense gets humming in Columbus, he has a good shot of ending his career at the very top of that list. If he scores 49 times this season (his previous career high is 45 touchdowns), he'll top Central Michigan's Dan LeFevour as the most productive member of the 40-40 club in his career

We expect Barrett will eclipse the 40-rushing touchdown mark.

He is already the program's all-time leader in passing TDs and should set the career yardage record as well this fall.
