How Much Money Big Ten Schools Could Get From The New TV Deal

John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal reported earlier today that Fox is closing in on securing half of the Big Ten's primary TV rights.

The deal will reportedly be for six years and cost as much as $250 million/year.

How much of that money would go directly to the schools? About $17.8 million/year.

As Wolken pointed out, that would just be for half of the TV rights. Projections are calling for Big Ten schools to make $40-plus million a year once the new deal is completely set.
