Two days ago, Ohio State placed Urban Meyer on paid administrative leave following a report from Brett McMurphy. The report alleges Meyer knew about the 2015 assault allegations against former wide receivers coach Zach Smith.
An investigative committee formed by Ohio State will investigate Meyer and decide if he's fit to continue as the team's head coach. In the meantime, Ryan Day has assumed coaching responsibilities.
Will he be the team's long-term head coach, or will Urban Meyer come back to coach the Buckeyes following the investigation? Sportsbook Odds Shark put together a list of the favorites to be Ohio State's head coach for the 2019 season.
Urban Meyer is the favorite. However, he's followed close behind by Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell.
Campbell is an Ohio native, yet he just agreed to a significant contract extension to stay with the Cyclones. He formerly coached at Toledo where he racked up a 35-15 record.
Campbell had the Cyclones ranked No. 14 in the nation at one point during the 2017 season before losing three of four to end the season.
