Fresh off a 42-0 thumping of Cincinnati, Ohio State seems to have alleviated any concerns Joel Klatt had about them.
By his own admission, Klatt had some questions about OSU’s defense and the development of Justin Fields after the Buckeyes’ Week 1 win over FAU. Week 2 against the Bearcats changed that.
“I had some concerns about Ohio State after last week’s games and Ohio State fans were saying ‘Oh it was just the backups’,” Klatt said in a video today. “I didn’t believe that was the case at the time and now that probably was the case. I was probably wrong.”

Klatt also had praise for Fields, but the biggest takeaway from his comments is that he is putting the Buckeyes ahead of Michigan in his personal rankings.
Ohio State fans will enjoy hearing that, and quite frankly, it is the correct take given how much Michigan struggled against Army.
The Buckeyes should be able to handle Indiana and Miami (Ohio) without issue in the next two weeks. Then comes a trip to Nebraska to face a Cornhusker team that boasts talent, but clearly has issues with closing out games.
By the end of September, Ohio State should be tested enough for the more rugged portion of its 2019 schedule.
